North-South personal insolvency gap widens
Personal insolvency rates in the North-East and North-West increased between 2008 and 2013, whereas they fell in London and the Home Counties. This raises questions over the Coalition parties’ claims that the recovery has been felt equally across England.
Meanwhile, a national firm of accountants has predicted that the number of personal insolvencies in the first quarter of 2015 will reach its lowest level since 2005.
